For this summer issue, Comporta is what our heart desired. Because this delightful village reminds us of our home town of Kitzbühel, even if these two places couldn't be more different. Both have taken care to retain their sende of originality - even if the jet set have by now made their homes here too. Embedded in the midst of stunning nature and surrounded by down-to-earth people, you feel at ease, relaxed and simultaneously inspired. This makes it the perfect backdrop to showcase our collection, which is made for precisely this: for people who appreciate what is real and genuine, who love to discover new things and who know how to enjoy life. COMPORTA, MY LOVE
ALL IT TOOK WAS ONE FAMILY HOLIDAY TO COMPORTA IN THE SUMMER OF 2016, AND HILI INGENHOVEN WAS HEAD OVER HEELS IN LOVE. THE HEAD OF SOCIETY OF GALA MAGAZINE HAD ALREADY HEARD PLENTY ABOUT THE LITTLE FISHING VILLAGE ON THE ALENTEJO COAST. "ONE DAY WAS ALL IT TOOK, AND I WAS CATIVATED. THE COMBINATION OF ENDLESS SANDY BEACHES, THUNDERING ATLANTIC WAVES AND LUSH GREEN RICE FIELDS LYING HIDDEN BEHIND THE DUNES WAS LIKE NOTHING ELSE I´D EVER EXPERIENCED IN EUROPE", SHE RECALLS.
"We quickly agreed: we want to spend more time in this fabulous place, and just two years later we bought an old fisherman´s house, which we converted into our dream family home during the Covid pandemic. With a pool and rooftop terrace, close to the rice fields and just two minutes away from our favourite beach, Praia do Carvalhal. The Portuguese talk about "tranquiladade" - slowing down an living in the moment - this is true luxury for me."
